Born on March 6, 1900, in Lonaconing, Maryland, was Robert Lefty Grove. Grove was a Baseball Hall of Fame pitcher, MLB All-Star on six different occasions, was on the World Series winning team in 1929 and 30, won the AL MVP in 1931, and the Triple Crown in 1930 and 31. Lefty played for both the Philadelphia A's and the Boston Red Sox.
